Meet New Cape Fear CREW Member Tami Gentry!

Summary of your role:

Prospects, develops and retains quality real estate attorneys, Real Estate Agents and Brokers, banks and lending institutions, and Builders through the acquisition of new business and maintenance of existing customers to attain maximum sales volume and develop maximum potential volume from Eastern NC markets for the division's products and/or services.

How I chose my occupation:

A couple of decades ago, I became interested in real estate due to my father-in-law's land development business. In my real estate broker classes, I learned about the lending side of the transaction and directed my talents toward retail and wholesale lending (after obtaining my real estate license). After the mortgage meltdown in 2007/2008, I retained my residential appraisal license and later worked with a large banking software company for 8 years. This brings me to today, working in the residential and commercial title industry.

Years in the business:

29 years

My specialization is:

Residential real estate as a whole

A good lead for me is:

A residential or commercial property executed sales contract in NC, SC and Virginia OR a closing attorney needing a prior title policy on "this" sale. Lender, real estate agent, bank or builder with title needs (in these 3 states) are also great leads.

The satisfying part of my job is:

Building trust amongst the real estate community and attorneys to use Key Title on a regular basis.

Best leadership advice I have been given:

Be a great listener, be humble and lead by example.

Number of years with CREW:

One year

Who introduced you to CREW:

Shannon Smith, Key Title Agency Manager

Place of birth/hometown:

Greenville, NC

Number of years in the Cape Fear:

3.5

I joined CREW because:

I wanted to expand my network in Eastern NC and gain leadership skills simultaneously. I have always planned to end my career in commercial real estate. I am now on the path to making that happen.

Family:

Family is a group of 2 or more people who are joined together by some form of kinship or common affiliation.

My ideal vacation spot:

80 degrees, clear blue water separated by islands of different cultures and loads of white sand.

Hobbies/interests:

I am a workaholic, but I love golf, sunbathing, traveling with my husband Mark, boating and spending fun times with my 3 grandchildren. I have always worked with volunteer programs and helping those in need.

Other professional organizations I belong to:

Multiple Board of Realtor groups, WARM NC, Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC and Special Olympics.

I wish I could:

I wish I could help at least 1 person per week become better in some form or fashion than they were the previous week.
